Targeted Intensive Prenatal Program
Remember, Healthy Babies Begin within a Healthy Mom.
Clients are referred to our agency by other social service agencies, physician offices, and other departments within the Winnebago County Health Department.
Qualifying Risk Factors
- Chronic diseases or illnesses that affect pregnancy
- Previous pre-term births, infant loss/stillbirth
- Pre-pergnancy weight less than 100 pounds or greater than 300 pounds
- Fifth pregnancy or third child within three years
- HIV positive or repeated STD infections
- Multi-fetus Pregnancy
- Victim of Domestic Violence
- Alcohol/Substance Abuse during pregnancy
- DSM IV Classification
- Under the age of 15
- Homeless or in temporary housing
- Incarcerated or currently under house arrest
- DCFS involvement
Program Highlights and Overview
Through the TIP Program, 80 percent of participating clients will have early and adequate prenatal care and will deliver a baby weighing 5.5 pounds or more, reducing the low birth weight rate in
