What is coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)

A new respiratory illness that can spread from person to person that can cause severe illness.

Prevent the Spread of Illness

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth
  • Cover your cough or sneeze
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick

Good hand-washing can help you stay healthy. Watch this video from the CDC to learn the best way to wash your hands.

Symptoms of COVID-19

Patients with COVID-19 have experienced mild to severe respiratory illness. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure. Symptoms can include:

Fever
Symptoms fever.
Symptoms cough.
Shortness of breath
symptoms shortness of breath

If you have symptoms, call your healthcare provider BEFORE visiting the office.

The CDC now recommends wearing cloth face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain (e.g., grocery stores and pharmacies) especially in areas of significant community-base transmission of COVID-19. CDC guidance for use of cloth face coverings.

The Winnebago County Emergency Operations Center is asking the community to help us by making and donating masks. If you are interested in making masks, please follow the guidance from the Minnesota Department of Health and University of Nebraska Medical Center.
